I am A MAGICIAN!

This week for reading, we are doing it on magic. With our magic reading we had to read 3 articles and make a E Book on a Magician. Then we had to do 3 magic tricks in front of our family. We also had to come up with a name for ourselves, I called myself The Great and Amazing Boy. My favourite part of this reading was making the E book, because I love making E books. Do you like Magic or have you done any Magic tricks before? Let me know.

Lock down

We have had lock down for the past few days, because of Covid 19. In Lock down we have been having Bubble School. Bubble School is when you do school but at home, and go on google meets to see what you need to do. This is our second day of Bubble School and i'm waiting to get out of Lock down. My favourite part of Lock down so far is staying at home and being able to go outside, and play basketball. The worst part of Lock down for me is having to go on google meets and needing to wait until 2pm to have a meet with the teacher for help. Whats your favourite part of Lock down? Let me know.

I am a Scientist!!!

We are doing a Science fair at school, but it’s a virtual Science fair. We have made a Jamboard with our ideas for what to do for our Science fair. We have done this Science fair so we can learn about Science and get our brains thinking about what we could do with Science. One of my ideas was, What gives for heat a Red light or a Blue light? So far this Science fair has been a lot of fun because we get to think of ideas  and then get to test them and that's the fun part. I have 5 ideas for what I could do for the Science fair and I'm still thinking of more. My favourite part of the Science fair was coming up with the ideas because I got to think of what would be fun as a project. What would your favourite part of the Science fair be?Let me know.

Tokyo 2020 but in 2021?!?!?!?

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics is going on right now, but it's not 2020 it's 2021 we have the 2020 Olympics in 2021. It's because we had corona virus in 2020 and the Olympics got postponed to 2021. With the Olympics going on we have watched about 6 hours watching the Olympics at school. My favourite event at he Olympics is the basketball. We have won 6 Golds 4 Silvers and 5 Bronze. I hope one day that I could get into the Olympics for basketball. What is your favourite sport in the Olympics, and what would you want to go for?

I'll see you in 50 years.

In the past few days we have been making a formal letter to put in a Time Capsule. A Time Capsule is something that you hide somewhere and if someone finds it will get send to you, and we are writing to our selves. First step was to write a formal letter to our selves. We are going to put stuff from the current time of 2021 and then hopefully someone will find it then will send it to us and we can see what has been happening in 2021, because we would have forgotten what is going on now. The only thing we know that we are going to put in there is a and the letters Covid Mask. I have been having some fun doing this Time Capsule. Have you ever made a Time Capsule before? Tell me in the comments or send me a email benp@kaniere.school.nz.

This is my letter that i'm putting in the Time Capsule so far.

Matariki Mat

We have made a Matariki Mat. You might be thinking what is a Matariki Mat, it was a Mat made out of Harakeke and you weave it into something like a plate. First with out Mat we had to get 12 pieces of small flax then start weaving, a 7 by 5 grid. Next you have to put the 2 ones next to the middle flax and fold them up to the, other side. Next you grape the 2 ones on the edge and fold, them to the other side. Then you fold the 2 up top back down, next you fold the one in the middle and do the same thing. Then you get something that you can tie something     with like a rope, then grab all of the flax and tie them together. In do that for the other side, Then you need to do that with the other ones and then you are done that. You need to fold it up and make a handle then BANG you done. Have you made a Matariki Mat before or did you already now how? Let me now though a Email or in the comments.

I am a Artist

We have been learning about Emily Carr with Mrs Swinburn. Emily Carr was a Canadian Artist that liked to paint trees. She was born on 13th December 1871 and died on 2nd March 1945. We wanted to make trees like Emily Carr  so first we had to get a sponge and then put in some paint then do the page and then put on a second colour or a third. Next we had to make a draft of our tree that we were going to make. Last we had to paint our draft tree onto the coloured paper. Have you ever made a tree like this? Tell me in the comments.
