Farm Chrismas

Today for the summer Leaning Journey we had to make up a Jingle bells song. I came up with this song with the farm and what we do for Christmas. I got help with this because I don't have lots of ideas.

I did this activity for the Summer Learning Journey. We had to figer out what beach we had to find. I really liked finding out the clue. The clue was this beach has a lion rock. Then I searched up a beach that has a lion rock and it was piha beach. I did not like putting the screeancastafie on.

Today for the Summer Learning Journey we had to make a Santa costume. My costume has Santa's outfit different colours. I used google draw to make this drawing. I used the pollyline and curve tool to make these shapes.

Art

Today we were talking about the Summer Learning Journey. For one of the tasks we had to colour in a piece of art. I choose to colour the Liberty Statue. We choose a colour and clicked on it, then, clicked on the picture and it coloured in automatically. I was experimenting with other colours to see what it would look like. There were 16 colours to could use. I saw this art and I thought that it was I good idea to colour in. I got this art from Art Colouring Book.

Hellacopter

 Today we made paper helicopters for a reading task. It was an experience to make these. First I had a lot of trouble to get it to spin but then Rhys helped me. Rhys showed me how to make one then I made it. First I needed to get a thin piece of paper and fold it in half. Next I  had to fold the to two inches down. Then I got a paper clip and put it on the bottom. Then I got on a chair and dropped it then it flew. I am really proud of this because it was a big struggle and was also my favourite reading task this week.

Mr Kinane

 On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Mr Kinane came into our class and taught us about micro bits. A micro bit is a little object that is your commuters brain. He showed us a website that you  can make your own micro bit and how to send a message.  We had to work in a group of two my partner was Renny, Renny was doing a big help to try and get it finished. Mr Kinane gave us a challenge how fair we can send a message from. The farthest group could send a message 105 STEPS!! After we had done that Mr Kinane showed and something called a cricket. A cricket is something that you put a micro bit in it with another micro bit that is plugged in your chrome book and you have, a gate when you press button A and B the gate with move Mr Kinane gave us a cup and a straw and when we got the gate moving, we put it on the cup and put the straw on it and it spine'd around.

Kites

 This week we have been working on our kits. We made these kites in week 3, we have been skinning the kites this week. The sticks that we used to skin it was toe toe. My kite keep falling apart and I still have not finished it. But tomorrow I am going to be doing my best to try and get it finished. We have done this because Mrs Hickford wanted kites to be on the wall and I also thought that it would be a good idea. I might make a kite in the holidays if I have the recuses let me now?

Monopaly

 Today we played monopoly at lunch. The people that were playing was me, Connor, Rhys, Xanthe and Chris. Monopoly is a slow game and you might play for a week then just lose. We did not have all the cards so we could not play for the whole day. Chris got to land on the 2nd best card in the game but we did not have the card. At the end I got a little board and then let Louis take my place. I also had no cards so I had so money.

Yr 6 Jobs

 This week the year 5 and 6's were at camp. The year 4's had to do the P.E shed, Bikes, Peer mediation and put out the flags. We also had to do assembly I had to say the milo moring tea and the birthdays. Today Mrs King gave us a milo for our hard work of the all the jobs we had to do. Each day we did one job on Monday I did the P.E shed with Louis at lunch. On Tuesday I put out the bikes with Louis. On Wednesday  P.E shed at Play Time with Louis. On Thursday I did peer mediation with Louis. On Friday I did the flags and the P.E shed with Lincoln because Sofia was not there to help him.

Collage

I made this collage with explore. First I got my favourite car then, I a got a doge and put it on top of the car. I put my favourite dinosaur at the front which is a spineo. Then I thought it would be cool if a put on some wings. I will make a collage that's made with my favourite things, ask me in the comments? To make a collage you get pictures and put them over one an other.

Barrier game

 

We had Cybersmart today and we played a game called the barrier game. We had slides that we had to tell our partner were the land marks were.  We did a clown a boat and some random pictures. My partner was Oscar but then he had to go to music then I had Mrs M then I had Leon to challenge. I will maked one with my sister and do an update?

Magic Show

 Today we had a magic show at 9:15am. El Gregoe and his assistant did lots of great tricks with birds. My favourite trick was him putting a bird in a box then another bird came out of it. It was a big surprise when I found out that there was a magic show. El Gregoe is one of the most best magician I have ever seen. I learn that all of the magic is just special effects.  El Grego had a bucket that never stopped poring water I really wanted to know how he did that. El Grego need three people and he choose Me, Olivia, and Sam he did a trick that he had Sam in a chair and then took away the chair and he was FLYING. He was teaching us about values.

Crystals

 This week we are making crystals for our weekly challenge. We have been making salt crystals and sugar but you can't really see them because they are so small. Today we are going to be making borax crystals which I think will be really fun. I want to see what the other class have done with theirs. I could make one at home and show you what I end up with. I want to see what happens if a shack it and all the crystals come down.

Bubble Adventure

Today we had Cybersmart we worked with a little kid and we made them in a bubble some where in the world. My partner was Mateus and Lincoln. I had a great time doing this and when we finished Mateus showed me and Lincoln how he draws on his iPad. I could make another one of these and get me to do it with myself and you could see where I end up on my bubble.

Cross Country

A few weeks ago we had our Cross Country. The people who were in the same race as me  were Lincoln, Renny, Sofia, Olivia, Connor, and Jasper. There was a big track around the school. You ran up the field, down to the sand pit and back behind the the start then up to the fort. You went up into the fort and you had to go through the trees and there was some muddy bits and I almost fell over. Then I went up the hill back up into the fort and went through the trees, to go out to the field. We had to go around  3 times. Renny got 1st, Lincoln got 2nd, and I got 3rd. At the end I did a really big slide and I got really muddy there is the photo bellow. Next year I could make another blog about the Cross Country. If you were a year 5 or 6 and if you got 1st, 2nd, or 3rd you went to West Coast champs which was about 10x the track here. If you got 7th or under in the West Coast Champs you compete in Canterbury Champs. The only person that went to Canterbury Champs in this school was Oscar.

Egg Experiment

We were doing a challenge to make an egg bounce. First we talked about how we will make it bounce.  Some people have already done this before and they said to put in vinegar. After about 4 days we went outside so we could test them. But Mrs Hickford was playing with it then it bounced off the table and broke. But we have another week to do it so we might have a chanse of winning this challenge. Luckily we made two eggs so we could do that one, but it broke at 20 cm.

Titanic Animation

Today I made a Titanic animation because we were reading about titanic. Mrs Hickford said we could make a animation. So a made one I think I did really good and it is the best animation I have made. Did you now that an iceberg may not have sunk the Titanic, it was a explosion. Let me know in the comments if you new that? The story that we were reading was called unsustainable. On the titanic only 705 people survived out of 2205

Zack Zombie

This week I have been reading Zack zombie from the library. There is a whole series, there 20 books.  I have read all of the books. It is one of my favorite books, it is my favorite book because it is Minecraft and that is my favorite game.

Science

Today we were doing Science for the last day of school. I thought that we were going to be making crystal but we were making something that dissolve water. I learn't that when you get water and with Sodium polyacrylate. it expand, and when you add salt it will dissolve. We are doing this for a fun  then to do for the end of the term. We got spoons and counted how many you got until it filled up me and Haki got 60 tea spoons full of water in the cup.

Remove BG

We are using Remove bg for our Cybersmart. I like this because Godzilla and dinosaurs are my favourite things. We did this because we were learning how to remove the backgrounds. We used a site called remove Background. The way I did this was a got some photos and made it transform into something else. I am proud of this because it's mine I did the best I could do.

Bruce McLaren

This week we were reading about Bruce McLaren. Bruce was the youngest person to win a grand Prix. Bruce was born in 1937 and died 1970. He was born in Auckland. He produced his cars in London. Bruce died in a test run in his car before the race then he crashed and then died. I love this google draw that I made. It's not the best but I did it the best I could.

Limerick

A Limerick is a little poem. We were doing these just for fun. To make a Limerick you need 2 rhyming words and then another to rhyming words that, are rhyming words but not the same as the other ones. Then one more at the end. If you make one can you please sent it to me I would love to see it.

Pepeha

This is my Pepeha. A Pepeha is a little Mihi with your name were you came from and were you are now. We did a Pepeha because for our waka. I added images to show where I was born were you live and a photo of me. Have you ever made a Pepeha.

Minecraft

This is Minecraft. I have made a slide show of Minecraft. Minecraft is my favorite game I like it because it is a fun game and you can play with your friends. Your goal in Minecraft is to kill the ender dragon and the wither. Or you can keep going and get all the advancements. You get them for doing stuff in the game by getting wood by getting diamonds almost anything. I have played Minecraft with Haki and had a really fun time. We where building a big house. Have you ever played Minecraft?

ST John

Today we went to St John. They came to our school to teach us about an emergency.  When someone is having an emergency attack or unwell They told us how to look for danger, to see if they respond, if they are breathing, and their airway is clear so if they vomit they don't chocke. We put each other in the recover'y position when they are unconscious. They taught us about hypothermia and hyperthermia. Hypothermia is cold and Hyperthermia is hot.

Roblox

Roblox is a fun game. You can play Obbeys, Paint Ball, Build a Boat, Adopt Me Blocksburg and so much more. Roblox is my favorited game because I can play with my friends online. The game I play the most is Build a Boat because you make boats and try to get to the treasure.  You get gold for getting further down the river.Along the way you face a bunch of challenges, maybe 50, and when you get to the end you get the treasure and get 90 gold bars. After that teleport back to the start.

Animation

We were doing animations, animations are when you make a slide and put stuff, in it then make it move on every slide. I learned how to embed stuff and put it on my blog.I learned how to use the arrow keys to move stuff in my animation. Have you ever made an animation?

Tangrams

We have been learning about tangrams. Tangrams are when you get a shape and fill it in with other shapes. It was really hard but really fun. My mum help'd me do it because I need'd some help.

Woka

We are doing woka it like a big boat. We are using water colours to colour it in. You colour a little bit in then you put water on it with a brush and it spreads. We are going to put are mihi and put our face on it.

Connect 4

Connect 4 is a really fun game. It's when two people play and you want to get 4 in a row it can be a row, column, diagonal. In this game my mum bet me. The next game I bet my mum then I played Rebekah she own but I did not care.

Fish And Chips

Fish and Chips.

On Friday we had fish and chips because it was level 3 and we could buy fish and chips. I got corn ball for tea. It tasted really good like an icecream. It smelled really good when they came in with the food. It was really good to have fish and chips after 6 weeks. We got them from porkys.

Birthday

Yesterday it was my cousins Birthday. There names are Cameron and Mikayla. They were turning 15. Me and my family got them $20. We played spot light after tea me and Liam had to seek. I like playing spot light with our family because we have a very big family. We had Pizza, Fish, Chicken balls and Cheese rolls. For pudding we had Cake, Cream puffs, Jelly and lollies. Then we went home.

Sleepover

On Friday me and my sister had a sleepover in our lounge.

My Mum made us a menu of what food we could choose from.  We choose pizza and chocolate pudding.  Rebekah and I made a  gear list of then that we needed.
We had to set up the air bed, and we needed to get sleeping bags.

After tea we had pudding we had chocolate pudding. Then we watched a movie we watched Shaun the Sheep, and we had snacks. We really wanted to play stoplight but it was raining.
We went to bed at 9:30 PM. Rebekah left at 11 PM, she went to her own room. I stayed there the whole night.

Lego Giraffe

Today I made a Lego giraffe. At first I really struggle but then I made it a 1 block giraffe, I think doing it as a 1 block giraffe is easier than making a thick giraffe.

Godzilla

Godzilla is a sort of dinosaur and whale. He is in three movies. I have watched two of the Godzilla movies. I have watched  Godzilla,the americaian form and the King of Monster. I have not watched the Chinese form. Godzilla picks up his enemies, and spits blue fire into there body.

Dogs

Dogs are really fun because you can play fetch with them and, if they are good you can give it a treat. They are very cute too they always try to be so so cute.  They love to play games. They like to catch cats. Some dogs have big eyes. Some dogs have floppy ears and some dogs have big ears or strait ears.  I do not have a dog.

Cats

Cats are very cool because they can be very funny. My cat like to drink from our pool and sometimes he falls in. Cats  can be very cute to because my cat likes to sleep on my sisters bed. For our reading we are reading about a cat wanting to go outside, it is called the diary of the cat. I have never read a book like this it was really fun reading this book. So that's why I choose this book.

Enlargement

We were working on Enlargements. Enlargements are when you make something bigger and your doubling it. I learned about enlargements with a grid it was very hard to do these enlargements but in the end I got it right, with the help of Theo and it was great fun.

We I have finish high school, i want to start working straight away.  The career i want to do is to be a farmer. Because I enjoy driving the machinery. I don't think I would really enjoy milking the cows, but this job is apart of farming and has to be done.
I want to start working straight away so i can earn money.  I want to live with my cousin Liam and go skiing on the weekends.

These are my favourite games Minecraft & Traffic run

Minecraft- Minecraft is a very fun game because you can make lots of cool stuff and everything is a cube. You can play on either a mobile phone or computer. You can play with your friends, you can go on creative or survival. You can find a village.  In the village you can find lots of cool stuff. The goal of the game is to kill a dragon which is called the Ender Dragon and you can fight more boss's like the Wither and Hero Brine. The hardest boss is the Ed Min and you can finish some things called advancements and you can do them for a challenge.

Traffic Run- Traffic Run is a very fun game because it's a game when you have a car and you need to make it to the end with out crashing into other cars, trains & trucks. It is a mobile game and you can get coins and get cool cars that make you go faster.

SLJ 2019 Week 4 Day 1 Activity 2

The five things that help me to be healthy.

1. I all ways run around the house 10 times.

2. I all ways eat  vegetables for tea so I get healthy. Broccoli is my favourite.

3.  I eat fruit every day to be healthy. I like bananas the best, but find the go squishy in my lunch box.

4. I like to play Rugby in winter.  This is my favourite sport. One day I want to be an All Black.

5. In the summer I go to swimming club and do swimming sports at school.

SLJ 2020 Week 3 Day 3 Activity 3

This is a motorbike, a motorbike is a very fast vehicle. They are made of plastic and they have two wheels or four wheels and it has a very powerful engine. You use the handle bras to steer the motorbike and there is two hand brakes. One of them is called the front brake and the other the back brake. The back brake stops the back tires and will stop the whole bike. If you use the front brake then it will slow down the bike and then it will stop. There is two ways to start motorbikes. You can do a race start or you can just start it the normal way. If you start it by doing a race start then you will take off and then you will go really fast. If you start it the normal way you will just need to start going by pulling back the left handle and then you will move.

Jacinda Arden is New Zealand's Prime Minster. I would put her on a $10 note because she has done lots of great things for the country. For an example she has made history in New Zealand and the world being the youngest female head of government. She has been the face for the country during some very dark times.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was born on February 4 1913 in Tuskegee Alabama. When Rosa was on the bus December 1st 1955 she sat at the white peoples spot and the bus, driver said to move but she didn't and then she got arrested. It was good that Rosa got arrested because people wanted to sit where they wanted, they didn't want to be segregated any more. The montgomery bus boycott, it was stared by Dr Martin Luther King JRN because all the back people got mad because she got arrested. The boycott was people refusing to go on the bus and get there own way around town. The boycott ended December 20th 1956 because the supreme court said it was not legal to treat african americans this way.

What is important to me!

My farm is important to me because I like to go on the farm and help my Dad. I see my cousins there a lot. My Nana and Granddad live on the farm as well my Nana has really good food out there too.

My family is important to me because then I would't have food. My Mum and Dad help me doing the Summer Learning Journey. They get me to places where I need to be.

Playing rugby is important to be because I get to make new friends and spend time with my friends. I feel good when I am playing rugby because it gets me fit.
