Blasting off A Rocket!

We have been learning about Rockets. Our class has entered a Challenge called the Rocket Challenge. In the Rocket Challenge you make bottle Rockets and put pressure into the bottle and launch it and try to be the best school. First we need to get 1.5 litre bottles to blast off. Oscar and Jack.T brought in Lipton tea bottles but when we put fins on it and 500 ml, it EXPLODED!!! Everyone was excited but confused. Because it was really funny for it to explode but not a lot of people knew why. Mr A told us that the Lipton drinks weren't fizzy so it couldn't handle the pressure and exploded. I almost died! (not real)

 A few weeks ago we made some Anzac letter home from Gallipoli. The first thing we did with this we looked at a dairy to someone who got put in prison in the Anzac war. They made a story about what they do there. Then Mr A told us that we were going to make letters home from Gallipoli.

First we had to write our letters on our computers so we had everything planned out. When we finished we got some paper and put some wet tea bags and dip them on it and made it look like really 100 year old paper. Then we left it outside for about 5 minutes and then we started writing. With the writing there isn’t that much to say about it because it was easy just long. When I finished we put some pictures on the poster and then we were finished. Do you know a lot about Anzac? Tell me in the comments.

I Am The Best Runner In The World

A few days ago I went to Athletics. The ones that I was in were 50m, 1000m, High Jump, Discus and long jump. The first thing that we did was Discus. With Discus you throw a disc as fair as you can. You get 3 tries at throwing, my first try was my best. I get a PB of 16.33m. My 2nd try I got 13.23m, My 3rd try I got 16.20m. Then we went to the 1000m. We were waiting for the race to start for about 5m. When it did start we had to do 2 and a half laps of the high school field. Lincoln got 1st, Haki got 2nd ,will got 3rd, and Crous got 4 and I got 5th.Then we went to the high jump. We had to wait around 20mins for it to really start. When it did start on my first jump I hit down the bare and the bare started at  1 METER. Then I thought I don’t want to do high jump now. But I still gave it a go, The same thing happened with the first jump. On the last jump when I hit the bare down it hit my spin and it really hurt. Then we went to the 50m. The 50m was finished in seconds. Then we went to the long jump my first jump was 2.22 my 2nd jump was a no jump same with the 3rd jump.

The Best Swimmer in the World!!!

 We have had swimming sports recently. With swimming sports year 4, 5 and 6s swim at the Hokitika pool qualify for the districts. Only year 5 and 6s can go to districts. My races were 3 lengths freestyle ,2 lengths freestyle, 1 length freestyle. 2 lengths backstroke, 1 length backstroke, 1 length breaststroke, 2 lengths breaststroke, 3 lengths, IM wihich is 1 length backstroke ,1 length breaststroke, 1 length freestyle. and lastly butterfly. Do you enjoy swimming as much as I do?. Have you ever done butterfly or breaststroke tell me in the comments?

I Am A Professional Cricket Player

 Yesterday we went outside and did cricket practices. Two men from Canterbury Cricket came to work with us. First they asked us who was the fastest. Cooper thought she was really fast so she was the first in for ball tag. When someone got tagged they had to help the tagger. Oscar  and I where  the last people left. Then we did some catching. All we had to do was catch the ball. Then we did some batting. We got three bats and whatever team got the most hits won. Our team WON!!!.Do you want to play Cricket? If you do send me a picture.

The Best Animation In The WORLD

 

Today my group finished our animation. We had to do our animation about Kaitiakitanga. We made someone picking up rubbish on the beach and see a turtle that got beached. He called the vet and they put the turtle back into the water. Me, Lincoln, Xanthe, Renny and Rhys made this animation. Do you like our animation?

Klewed up "Chill" Dren

 4 days ago we went to Clued up Kids. 'Clued up Kids' was a group of emergency services, NZ Rail, NZ Search and Rescue and others who were there teaching us about all kinds of safety. 

ST. Johns were there to teach us some basic First Aid.  It was fun learning about how to wrap a badge around a knife that was stuck into you. There were also people teaching us about animal safety, around horses. They told us if you are going to be behind a a horse you let them know you're there, because if you scare them they will kick you, and that could kill you. Then we went to the Police area. The Policeman were with someone from the rescue team. They told us all the things that they would need to go and rescue if someone got lost. Then we went to 'how to make your house safe.' They told us to walk around the tables (house) and see how many things you can see that can hurt you. I didn't like doing the animal safety because I do not like horse's. I liked doing the police because all I needed to join was just finish high school. You might be able to go to Clued Up Kids too?
